Sniff, Cough, Wheez...Spring is Here

Hello Friends!  How are you doing?  I want to start off this post by first saying thank you for your sweet comments on my Trash to Treasure room box & the magazine.  You all are always so encouraging and kind.  I could not ask for a nicer community of blog friends.  Thank you so much!

Well, Spring is upon us and the pollen is in full force here in Georgia.  Between my asthma and allergies, it has been a tough week.  We are supposed to get some rain starting tomorrow, so I am hoping for a little relief.

Between the coughs and sniffles, I did manage to make a little more progress on the Pergola.

I added a blooming vine to the top.  It is not quite to scale, but I think it works.

Many of these minis on the inside are gifts from friends or swaps that I participated in.  The wind chime (on the right) is one of my favorite things.  It is from a swap I did with Lou Ann.  She does not have a blog, but is a very talented lady who made the chime from beads and jewelry findings.  The little frog planter on the left is from a swap with my mini group.

The bird bath is from Joanns.  They have a new section called miniature garden.  In addition to this little birdbath, they also have the cutest gnomes, fairies and other garden minis.  My mini budget did not allow for everything I wanted, so I will have to go back when funds are available. :)

I would like to add a lot more flowers and maybe some type of outdoor rug in front of the bench, birds and a birdhouse or two.  It will be a continuing project for me and since the weather is turning warmer, I am more inspired by nature to come up with things for it.  As always, thanks for visiting!

Until next time....

Creative Miniaturist Magazine

My Yahoo! Miniature Group, Wee Creations, held a Trash to Treasure room box contest back in January.  I entered a craft room made from a paint can.  I did not win, but it was so much fun to come up with things to make from items we would normally throw away!

Well, our group was featured in a new online miniature magazine, Creative Miniaturist, and our room boxes are in there too.  I was so excited to see it :-)  I have never been "in" a magazine or anything before so this is a big deal for me (can you tell? hee hee)  Here is the link to the issue:

A big thank you (and hug) to Diane Costanza for including my room box in this wonderful publication.  Creative Miniaturist is a great (free) resource for the mini community.  It is filled with tutorials, tips, printies & much more.  Please check it out if you have not already done so.  Oh, and thanks in advance for viewing my little spot in it.  ;-)
